With the participation of specialists, authorities, and representatives from the water sector, the Fourth Tamaulipas State Water Forum 2026 was held on March 19 and 20, establishing itself as a key platform for technical dialogue and the development of solutions to the state’s water challenges.
As part of the forum, engineer Francisco X. Valdés delivered the conference “Regenerative Irrigation: the most profitable and sustainable way to practice agriculture,” presenting an approach focused on maximizing water-use efficiency, regenerating soils, and strengthening agricultural productivity under sustainability criteria.
The event was supported by Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, head of the Secretariat of Hydraulic Resources for Social Development of Tamaulipas, who has promoted openness to innovative solutions in water management, in alignment with the vision of the state governor, Américo Villarreal.
The forum was organized by the Citizen Water Council (Mesa Ciudadana del Agua), highlighting the work of Luis R. Apperti, César Ponce, and David Hernández, who, in coordination with AISTAC, successfully consolidated a high-level technical event with broad participation.
Throughout the sessions, participants agreed on the need to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and move toward a more efficient, sustainable, and long-term water management model capable of addressing the region’s water and agricultural challenges.
