This past August 1st, Eng. Francisco X. Valdes attended the Opening Ceremony of the Expo Agro Internacional Chihuahua 2024, where he gave a brief introduction to the project of the first Metropolitan Recovered Wastewater Irrigation Unit in Chihuahua Capital.
This project, through the technification of more than 4,000 ha with precision subsurface drip irrigation, which in addition to offering maximum application efficiency, allows the recharge of the aquifer in periods when there are no crops with virtually zero losses due to evaporation.
With this action composed of Efficient Use, Responsible Recovery and Strategic Management, the 835-Tabalaopa-Aldama aquifer can be taken from being one of the 41 aquifers overexploited by almost 10 Mm3 per year in the state to having a surplus of 40 Mm3 per year and consequently FUTURE.
