Eng. Francisco X. Valdés participated in the Ahifores International Forum 2025, joining the panel “Toward a New Water Governance: Vision and Implications of the General Water Law for Mexican Agriculture.” His participation provided a technical and strategic perspective on the challenges and opportunities that the new legislation represents for the country’s agri-food sector.
Valdés emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among producers, institutions, specialists, and decision-makers to move toward fairer, more efficient, and resilience-oriented water management. He highlighted that sound water governance is essential to building a more sustainable and better-prepared agricultural sector in the face of climate and production challenges.
The engineer expressed his gratitude for the invitation and acknowledged the value of the forum as a space that promotes informed dialogue among the different stakeholders in the sector. He also congratulated the organizers and participants for consolidating an event that inspires, unites, and promotes responsible solutions for the future of water and agriculture in Mexico.
